Grace light

Grace light is a group of individuals gathered together for the consideration of questions and possibilities of spiritual import. Grace light meets periodically (from time to time) as need and interest dictate. Information regarding a current subject is sent to participants in advance for study and preparation. Participation is available both actually, and virtually via web conferencing.

Learning is a process, and part of the process requires the discovery and consideration of information new to the learner. Such new information, even though presented as well as possible, will ultimately be proven to be correct or incorrect.

For example: for over a thousand years it was believed, taught, and generally accepted that the Earth was at the center of the universe. Gradually a better model was proposed and accepted which gave the sun at the center of a solar system which included the Earth (though it was thought that the sun was at the center of the universe). More learning continued, yielding more accurate models that better described observed physical reality, until today the physical Earth, the solar system, and indeed our galaxy which contains them are understood as essentially tiny dots somewhere in a vast cosmos.

On the other hand, an observation that has continued unchanged throughout recorded history is that unaided humans, even with food and water, cannot survive in some land areas of the planet Earth. Though stretched by all sorts of physical aid (clothes, dwellings, bottled air, etc.), the unchanging reality is that the human body has continuing physical limitations.

So it is with the teaching and believing of the things of God. Some teachings endure and increase, and some teachings are shown to be lacking. As workmen of God’s Word, endeavoring to handle His things correctly and learning to live by correct believing, we prove (test, examine, try as refining metals) all things, holding fast that which is good. We’re not looking for errors; we rejoice in the truth. However, for truth to shine forth in all of its splendorous power, error at times must be noted and corrected, and additional correct teaching must at times be added.

Grace light thirsts for pure, lifegiving truth as a child yearns for pure, unadulterated mother’s milk. Only pure truth satisfies, sustains, and leads onward forever to God’s glory. We desire and demand God’s truth in His Son, wherever it is found, and we will do all that is necessary to learn, believe, and share it.
